TCS NQT — Complete Guide
The current TCS All India NQT hiring page describes an integrated Foundation + Advanced assessment. Performance can lead to Prime, Digital or Ninja interview opportunities, depending on the hiring process and evaluation.
TCS NQT is used as an entry-level hiring route. For the 2026 All India NQT drive, TCS stated that the Advanced section is mandatory for candidates aspiring to Digital or Prime. The standard test is not changed based on the skill selected during registration; shortlisted candidates are evaluated predominantly on the selected skill during the interview along with the usual interview assessment.
TCS NQT Eligibility
The criteria below are based on the TCS All India NQT 2026 hiring notification.
B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc./M.S. and other qualifications specified by the drive; the cited 2026 drive covered batches 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA in Class 10, Class 12, Diploma where applicable, Graduation and Post-Graduation where applicable.

How to Prepare for Digital / Prime
If your target is Digital or Prime, do not prepare only for Foundation aptitude.
01. Master Foundation
Build speed in arithmetic, reasoning and verbal questions. Accuracy matters because time is fixed.
02. Prioritize Coding
Spend serious time on arrays, strings, hashing, sorting, recursion, trees, graphs, greedy and DP.
03. Practice 90-Min Coding
Simulate the Advanced Coding window instead of solving unlimited untimed problems.
04. Revise Core CS
Prepare OOP, DBMS, SQL, OS and CN for the interview after the test.
05. Prepare Your Resume
Know every project, technology, database, API and implementation detail mentioned on your resume.
06. Target the Cadre
Attempt the Advanced section seriously if Digital/Prime is your target; TCS explicitly makes it mandatory for those aspirations.
TCS NQT Interview Preparation
Prepare for the interview as a separate stage rather than assuming the test score alone decides everything.
Technical Round
- Explain your strongest project end-to-end
- Programming language fundamentals
- OOP: inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, encapsulation
- SQL queries, joins, normalization
- OS and CN fundamentals
- DSA and coding questions
- Skill selected during registration
Managerial / HR Discussion
- Tell me about yourself
- Why TCS?
- Project challenges and contribution
- Strengths and weaknesses
- Relocation flexibility
- Career goals
- Questions about academics and gaps
TCS NQT Mock Tests
Practice Foundation aptitude and Advanced Coding with timed mock tests. Keep separate mocks for Foundation-focused practice and Digital/Prime-level preparation.
